Audio Guestbook Setup Guide
Welcome to your Audio Guestbook from The Minimal Studio.
Your Audio Guestbook has been prepared and tested prior to pickup, with the standby images already loaded and ready to go. Before guests begin leaving messages, you’ll just need to record a short welcome greeting of your own.
The setup is intentionally simple so you can focus on the moments that matter most.
Turning the phone on
At the back of the phone you’ll find a switch labelled high / low.
HIGH = on
LOW = off
Once switched on, the standby screen will appear automatically.
Adjusting the camera angle
The phone includes a built-in camera for video messages.
To adjust the camera angle use the Lens Control button above the screen. Push the control up or down until the framing feels right
We recommend testing the framing once the phone is placed in its final position.
Setting your welcome message
Your guests will hear a welcome message before leaving their recording.
To record or re-record your message:
- Press and hold the Welcome Message button
- The recording screen will open
- Lift the receiver
- Leave your message after the tone
- Place the receiver back on the hook to save it
That’s it.
You can repeat this process at any time if you’d like to change the message.
How guests leave recordings
Using the phone is intentionally very simple.
To leave a message, Lift the receiver, speak after the tone then return the receiver to the hook when finished
The phone automatically starts recording when the receiver is lifted and automatically stops when it is placed back down.
No buttons need to be pressed by guests.
The most meaningful recordings are often the least rehearsed. Some guests will leave heartfelt speeches, others quick one-liners and inside jokes.
That mix is part of what makes these recordings so special to revisit later.
A few helpful tips
Place the phone somewhere visible but not directly beside speakers
Softer lighting usually creates the nicest video recordings
Encourage guests to leave messages throughout the evening, not just before they leave.
Longer messages are welcome - some of the best are the least rehearsed
